Cant believe how popular this piece became...almost 400 s at this time...funny, I dont even think its that good...

anyway, I´ll try and use this paradox to my advantage through shameless self promotion.

At last..at long (LONG) last I'm done with it....well, it didn't take as long as some of the pieces on dA that are REALLY good, but still pretty long
Now that I look at the finished piece, I realize that this was only a practice drawing...Just like 'Genesis' [link] turned out to be a practice drawing for this, 'Twilight' is practice for something much better in the future. I feel that I improved a lot since I made 'Genesis'...after all, it was the best I could do then, and 'Twilight' is the best I can do now. I hope that with the next piece I would have improved just as much as I have during the making of this piece.

The starfield is much better than anything I've done before. The planet is not so good...This is partly because the photo I used for the texture was slightly blurred by camera shake. I'll retake the photo and use that texture in a different piece. The small planet isnt mine...it's from the resource section -> [link]lanet+in%3Aresources%2Fapplications%2Fpsd+sort%3Atime. In case you're wondering, the surface of the planet is actually the surface of a mammoth tusk. It is the PERFECT texture for a dry planet! I mean REALLY, it's awesome! Might submit it to the resource section when I make a new photo because it's really useful! Anyway...rambled on too much about the texture there...I want to improve my planets in the next space pic I make... the nebula is pretty good I think...I could have made it a bit better, but I don't have a tablet...On second thought, I think I'll try to make less stars and more variety next time...and the water and cliffs are just crap IMO...next time I'll use a photo if I make something like this!
Ok, I really got to stop now...got a bit carried away...

This piece took me about a week to complete...that's pretty fast, considering that this laptop isn't made for processing graphics and that I have very little experience with digital drawings...and no wacom!!! I am SO getting one when I get some $$$...
The file is ENORMOUS! The original is 6000x4000 pixels plus the border. The psd file is 304 MB...the jpg is nearly 17 MB...

If you are a digital artist with a lot more experience than me please, PLEASE give me some tips! It would really help me!
